Many Pacific stopovers are easy to include alongside Australia in a round the world flight ticket from the UK. These include Hawai’i, French Polynesia, Tonga, Fiji, the Cook Islands and Samoa.
Vanuatu stopover: cheap flights?
But one Pacific nation that isn’t usually included in RTW tickets is Vanuatu. If you fancy adding a side trip to Vanuatu on to your holiday in Australia, then the cheapest way of doing it is usually to book a flight on a budget airline from Australia to Vanuatu separately to your return flight to Australia.

And if you can book this separate flight during a sale, then the side trip to one of the most extraordinary countries in the South Pacific can work out relatively cheap.
Virgin Blue Vanuatu travel deals
One of those Vanuatu flight sales is on at the moment, courtesy of Australian airline Virgin Blue (who fly to Vanuatu under the name of Pacific Blue for reasons that are far too complicated and boring to explain). The sale is on until 05 January 2010, and fares must be booked as two one way tickets. Prices are as follows:
