Things To Do in Perth, WA: New Norcia, Whale-watching, Kings Park, Mint Tour & Dunebashing
Seven things to do in and around Perth, Western Australia
Visitors to Perth in Western Australia can taste the world’s best pizza at Delizioso Café in Subiaco, go on an indigenous heritage tour of Kings Park or watch gold being poured in the Perth Mint. Alternatively, day trip options include whale-watching from Augusta, Whaleworld near Albany, the monastic town of New Norcia and the Desert Storm 4WD sand dune tour in Lancelin.
Australiaflightbargains.com is primarily aimed at people trying to find cheap flights to Australia from the UK, but regular visitors may not have stumbled across the Inspiration section.
This part of the site contains Australian travel articles by this site’s author – David Whitley. He is slowly uploading some of the hundreds of articles he has written about Australia in the last ten years.
As an illustration of what’s available, David has compiled this list of seven great things to do in and around Perth in Western Australia. If you’re planning to head to this part of the world, then some of these options should really be on your radar…
Eat the world’s best pizza
The Delizioso Café in Subiaco, Perth, serves up the best pizza in the world – and that’s official.
Visit the monks at New Norcia
New Norcia is Australia’s only monastic town, and it’s possible to meet the monks on a day trip from Perth. The Spanish architecture looks rather out of place in the middle of the Australian bush.
Kings Park Indigenous Heritage Tour
Greg Nannup’s Indigenous Heritage Tour gives visitors a crash course in Aboriginal culture and history in the spectacular surroundings of Perth’s Kings Park.
Whaleworld, near Albany
The former Cheynes Beach Whaling Station has been turned into Whaleworld, a superb interactive exhibition about whales and the whaling industry.
Whale-watching from Augusta
It’s also possible to go on a whale-watching tour, at the point where the Southern Ocean meets the Indian Ocean.
Dunebashing in Lancelin
Lancelin, just north of Perth, is home to some mighty sand dunes. It’s possible to go on a 4WD tour over them in the enormous Desert Storm vehicle – and sandboarding is thrown in.
Perth Mint tour
All that glistens probably is gold at the Perth Mint. It specialises in selling coins and bullion, but tours of the premises offer visitors the chance to learn the history of gold in Australia and watch gold being poured into a mould.
These are just some of the experiences available in and around Perth, but plenty of other exciting Western Australian trips, tours and adventures are available through Isango.
