Jetstar flights to Tasmania
There are some great deals available on flights to Queensland in the current Jetstar domestic flights sale, but anyone thinking of visiting Tasmania should also pay close attention.
Tasmania from Sydney and Melbourne
If planning to visit Tasmania from the UK, instead of booking flights to Hobart, it may well be cheaper to fly into Sydney or Melbourne on the cheapest ticket you can and travelling with Jetstar from there.
Cheap flights to Hobart with Jetstar
Jetstar is currently offering flights to Hobart from Melbourne for from $59, and Sydney from $69. The same prices apply for flights in the other direction. Availability is changing as seats fill up, so check the Jetstar website for exact dates – although they currently cover much of 2010.
Cheap flights to Launceston
The other, even cheaper option, is to fly into Tasmania’s gorgeous second city – Launceston. Jetstar is offering Melbourne to Launceston flights for from $35 and Sydney to Launceston flights for from $59. Again, dates are becoming increasingly limited, so check before you book.
Booking deadline
These flights need to be booked before the end of 15 March 2010, and the prices are for hand-luggage passengers only. Expect to pay around $10 more if you’re checking in luggage.
