Royal Brunei: May 2010 cheap flights – London to Brisbane for from £539
STA Travel & Royal Brunei Airlines have announced a travel sale. In May 2010, airfare deals on cheap flights from London to Brisbane, Australia cost from just £539 per person.
STA Travel Brisbane flight
You’ll need to be quick on this one, but buried deep in the STA Travel website is an exceptionally good deal on flights to Brisbane.
£539 London Heathrow to Brisbane return
The travel agency is offering return flights to Brisbane from London Heathrow for just £539 with Royal Brunei Airlines, but there are a few catches.
Queensland in May
Firstly, the travel dates must be between May 1st and May 31st. This isn’t too big a drama – this a good time to visit Queensland. It’s not too cold in the south yet, and the dry season is starting in the north.
Alcohol on Royal Brunei Airlines
Secondly, Royal Brunei is an alcohol free airline – those who like a glass of wine on a flight are often bitterly disappointed. With the flight taking over 24 hours, you’ll need to stay dry for at least a day.
Book today
Thirdly, and this is probably the key thing, the deal ends today (Wednesday 21st October 2009). So if you want to get one of the cheapest flights to Australia you’ll ever see, you need to book it pretty much now.

When I flew with them to KL I thought a bottle of wine was perhaps a little excessive (Hey, I was younger, more innocent and clearly living on another planet! #travjournofail!) so I bought the only half-bottle I could find in a hurry in Duty Free. When the girls served it to me on the flight I realised it was Graves – sweet dessert wine…..UGH!
Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.

I haven’t flown with them for a few years now but it used to be the case that, while they don’t serve alcohol, they are happy to serve yours.
IE if you pop into duty free and buy yourself a bottle of wine, the flight attendants will open it for you and give you a glass.
It’d be worth checking to see if that’s the case.
