Qatar Airways: Cheap flights to Melbourne from London – £590 return
New route – UK to Melbourne via Doha, Qatar
Qatar Airways is the latest Middle Eastern airline to launch flights from the UK to Australia. It follows in the footsteps of Emirates and Etihad.
The first destination for its UK to Australia flights will be Melbourne. A three times a week service launches in December, and daily flights start on December 31st. Flights to Sydney via Qatar are expected to launch soon.
Special route launch fare
To launch the route, Qatar Airways has announced a special fare. Return flights from London to Melbourne will cost £590. These involve a short layover in Doha, Qatar. £590 is about as cheap as you’re ever likely to see for a return flight from London to Melbourne.
Qatar Airways sale fare deadline
These sale fares must be booked before the end of November 7th, 2009. There is a maximum stay of three months, and travel must be completed between January 1st 2010 and June 30th 2010.

Sales validity (Melbourne): On or before 07th November 2009
Travel validity (Melbourne): 01st January 2010-30th June 2010
Travel embargo: Outbound travel 11th December 2009 – 23rd December 2009. Inbound travel 2nd January 2010 – 15th January 2010
Minimum/maximum stay: Saturday night/03 months
