July 2010 UK to Australia travel deals: London to Sydney with China Airlines
You should avoid flying to Australia in July, but if you have to, flight deals with China Airlines via Taiwan are available for from £774 return.
July flights to Australia
As a general rule, July is the worst time of year for flights to Australia. The weather in the southern states (Tasmania, southern WA, Victoria, New South Wales and South Australia) is at its coldest, and flight prices can be extremely high.
Australians flying to Europe
The reason for this isn’t that more people want to fly to Australia at this time of year – it’s that more Australians are wanting to fly to Asia, the Middle East and (in particular) Europe.
Cheaper flights in September and October
Fares for flights to Australia in July often top the £1,000 mark, and if I’m being honest, I’d advise anyone thinking of going at this time to hang on for a couple of months – flights become much cheaper in September and October.
July flight deals
But if you really must fly to Australia in July, there are some decent deals available if you look hard enough. I’ve been testing out the new metasearch engine, Zugu.co.uk, and have found a few bargain prices on various set dates.
China Airlines flight deal
Amongst the best is a return flight from London to Sydney via Taiwan with China Airlines. Departing on July 18th and returning on July 31st, the flights cost £774 through Travelup or £777 through Netflights.
Of course, similar deals are available for other dates – I’m just using this as a sample.
