Flights to Australia in January 2011
Good deals for flights to Australia in January 2011 are just beginning to come on sale. I highlighted some excellent Malaysia Airlines flight sale prices on 23 February – but I’ve just found an even better deal.
Netflights & China Airlines to Sydney
Checking with Netflights, I’ve found an extraordinarily cheap flight from London to Sydney in January 2010. It’s possible to get an economy class return ticket for as little as £647.00. This deal is available on flights with China Airlines on 20 January 2011, returning on 29 January 2011.
This flight involves a change of planes in Taipei, the capital of Taiwan.
Peak season
It’s hard to express how good a price this is – January is pretty much peak season for flights to Australia, and finding flights for under £1,000 can be relatively tough, let alone £900.
Saturday returns
Other deals around the same dates are available, but prices are variable. It seems as though the trick for getting the best deal, however, is to return on a Saturday. I changed the return date to a week later – 05 February 2010 – and got the same price. And, frankly, 16 days is far more appealing than 9 for a trip to Australia.
