How to find the best flight prices once the airline sales have finished – such as an Emirates London Gatwick to Sydney deal for just £628.

When an airline sale ends it doesn’t necessarily mean that the cheap seats are no longer available. It is often the case that travel agencies and consolidators have bought tickets off the airline in bulk, and then sell them at low prices once the airline itself as finished its sale.

Cheapflights UK deals

A great source of such deals is Cheapflights UK. The site has relationships with travel agencies and consolidators that many other sites do not have.

Unfortunately not all of the prices advertised are always available – partly due to the deals listed not being real time, and partly due to certain agencies not being entirely honest – but put in the time to search and you can uncover some tremendous deals.

London to Sydney flights

Searching through Cheapflights UK for London to Sydney flights (use the blue search box at the top of the screen), and a series of eye-catching prices pop up. Alas, not all are now available (I’ll be kind and refrain from saying that some weren’t genuine in the first place).

Some of the more ridiculous prices (such as £539 with Emailflights.com) can be happily written off as non-existent, but plough through the deals and you’ll eventually get a brilliant one that’s genuine.

£628 Emirates flight

And a great example is the deal I found with Airbookers.net. The little-known site is selling flights from London Gatwick to Sydney via Dubai for just £628. This is flying with Emirates, departing on 10 April 2010 and returning on 24 April 2010. That’s about £40 cheaper than anyone else is selling similar Emirates flights for at the moment – and thus, a deal worth snapping up if you’re looking to fly to Sydney around that time and are flexible on your dates.
